Beautycon LA 2019 Day 1 is officially over. I was a bit overwhelmed by the crazy vibes of excited attendees and the tons of familiar faces of “beauty queens” everywhere. Every year, I look forward to attending Beautycon LA since it’s such a tight community of positive creators.
I was very surprised to see many new brands on the main floor. It felt very different compared to last year.
The Talent Lounge – Lots of Makeup!
There are a number of reasons why the Talent Lounge for Beautycon LA 2019 is a privilege to have access to. Firstly, the talent lounge is where I have met the coolest people. As I mentioned earlier, you get to meet all kinds of individuals from entrepreneurs, YouTubers, fashion bloggers, and creatives for beauty within different categories. Second, you get to meet representatives of brands directly from Ulta Beauty, Milani, Rimmel London, and so much more. Lastly, you get to discover new products from makeup to hair care, thanks to the brands who participate in sponsoring the Talent Lounge. I saw some Talent Lounge attendees drag out their giant tote bags full of product! Crazy.
WIW – What I Wore
Today, I surprisingly received many compliments on my outfit while attending the con. I actually wore this outfit before Beautycon LA 2019 to an OOTD fashion shoot in Laguna Beach;
I loved it so much that I decided to wear it again today. The outfit was slightly styled differently by leaving the lace dress down and adding a belt to it. The lace dress with white florals is called the Fontaine Lace Set by Eggie. This includes the white bralette, a white belt, and white shorts (I wore pants instead). The pants are from here, and the accessories are from Target.
Thank you for reading about my first day at this annual event! Did you go? What did you think?
First of all, I am excited to share my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review (get it here)! I recently went to an event at the pop-up café by Laura Mercier called “Café Mercier” located in Venice Beach. It was such an ideal café for me since it felt like a trendy LA café that had a charming French touch.
The Laura Mercier pop-up event was for the launch of the new and improved tinted moisturizer. In contrast to the older tinted moisturizer, the new packaging has a nice sleek feel to it and shows the shade of the product.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review: BENEFITS + INGREDIENTS
Before I get started on my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review, I must say I love the weightlessness. I felt comfortable with this product on all day. The product is infused with Tamarind Seed Extract to maintain moisture and prolongs hydration. The tinted moisturizer also contains Macadamia and Kukui seed oils to promote healthy skin by helping you skin’s fuctionality.

Next, is the pros and cons for the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review.
PROS:
SPF 30 UVB/UVA
Because it contains Antioxidant Vitamins C & E, it has added benefits
Hydrating / Moisturizing
Dewy & Natural Finish
As a result of the added nut oils, it has a luminous glow
Due to smooth application, it has a natural finish
Non-greasy
Because of the creamy texture, it blurs imperfections
Weightless
CONS:
As a result of very light coverage – not recommended if you have hyper pigmentation or acne
Certainly not for individuals who have nut allergies – contains nut oil
Because the shades are different from the previous formula, you cannot order the same shade as before.
Due to its light coverage, it is not buildable
Seems like it can get “tacky” if you have oily skin; too hydrating for oily skin
What I’m Wearing from Laura Mercier
First, for application, you can use a beauty sponge, but I prefer to use my fingers. Second, after applying about a “bean size” amount, I’ll pat my face with a beauty sponge to perfect the finish. Then, cover any pigmentation from previous acne with concealer. Finally, to set the tinted moisturizer, I used the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder using a powder brush
Product List:
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in “Almond” in 4C1
Translucent Loose Setting Powder – Glow
Flawless Fusion Concealer – Full Coverage in 3W
Matte Bronzing Powder Soleil Bronzer 2
Laura Mercier Blush Colour Infusion in “Sangria”
In conclusion, I highly recommend this new product! Finally, thank you for reading my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review! What are your thoughts about the new formula? Let me know below!

My Revolve Summer Lookbook (a large amount being from Revolve Festival) is very late, but I thought I should share what I loved most mid-summer. I’ve been feeling a little bummed lately because everyone around me is saying summer is almost over but I feel like I never got into it.
A Little Personal Update
On a personal life update, I’ll be honest. It’s been hard. I am not usually one to complain publicly. I believe complaining is not very attractive and I don’t want to sound like a little “bish”… But I thought I should try and open up more to whoever is reading this.
Before I get into my Revolve Summer Lookbook, I’ll share some personal thoughts and events. I recently had to go through a death in my family. I learned a lot about my immediate family and myself. Out of respect for my family’s privacy, I cannot share details… But what I can say is that I saw different sides of everyone that I didn’t really see before.
Many emotions were felt in a short span of 4 days: support, compassion, patience, impatience (lol), frustration, relief, anger, gratitude, and many more… In the end, I was reminded of how much I love my family and how stronger a woman I want to become. One step for me to be stronger is to be optimistic. So even though I had a rough few weeks, I look at it as a hurdle to being a stronger person. Summer is not over yet and I plan to make the most of it. Let’s start by sharing my Revolve Summer Lookbook.
Summer Lookbook from Revolve Festival
I’ve been shopping more often on Revolve lately (click here to see what else I bought!) so the majority of my Revolve Summer Lookbook is from Revolve Festival. Even though the festival was the beginning of summer, I think the outfits are still easy to wear in general.
Like many young fashion enthusiasts, I’ve been following Song of Style for years now. Aimee Song has been my role model throughout my little chapters in life and continues to inspire me. I especially love her New York Fashion Week content! I noticed Aimee Song’s Instagram handle had changed from @songofstyle to @aimeesong and it made me wonder why. As I curiously tapped on her profile, I was surprised to see her announcement of a clothing line called Song of Style soon to be launched by Revolve.
I waited for days for more news about the Song of Style. When the launch arrived, I waited eagerly to purchase a garment from the collection. I kept texting my girlfriend around 7 am, contemplating if I should purchase a garment. At first, I decided not to because I wanted to be good at spending. Then, Song of Style items was quickly being labeled as “out of stock”. SO, I quickly purchased the Ada Midi Skirt by Song of Style. Ah~ that guilty pleasure of purchasing something you want!
The Song of Style Ada Midi Skirt by Revolve is absolutely gorgeous. This garment is partially lined and has an elasticized waist, which I love! The reason I bought this is for the draped overlay trim and pastel pink color. I paired it with a white off-shoulder sweater (I always love wearing white) and white lace bralette under. As for my accessories, I am wearing the Chloe Small Nile Bracelet Bag in white and flats by x Lovers + Friends Magnolia Flat by Raye. White
Let’s be honest, everyone. All-white outfits are hard to pull off. And what’s worse is that fear of soiling your clean and fresh look and having to walk around in embarrassment. I’ve had quite a few mishaps while wearing all-white. Like the time I was in high school, I was naively bold enough to wear an all-white outfit to school and what do you know, a fellow classmate spilled chocolate milk all over my pants during lunch. Or that time when I wore a white tee to grab boba with friends. I stabbed my boba straw too hard into my Thai tea and got orange splatter marks all over my chest.
How to Keep Your All-White Outfit Fresh All Day
The following tips are followed by me when wearing an all-white outfit or when I have a photo shoot:
Eat leaning forward – Yes, it looks ridiculous but it helps! This includes having beverages as well.
If you’re stabbing a straw into boba, cover it with a napkin or hands.
Avoid carelessly sitting down anywhere. You’d be surprised by how many dirty white butts I’ve seen. Lol.
Carry a Tide Pen
If you have a mishap, soak with water or sparkling water and pat dry as soon as possible.
All-White Outfit Details
I absolutely love wearing white on white since it’s another way to make you “glow“. My entire outfit is by Forever 21. The white lace top (sold out but similar one here) was tricky since I thought a solid white or nude bra would look funny under this elegant top. I paired it with a white lace bralette and wore nipple covers under just in case! The pants were comfortable and made me feel chic. I finished this white on white look with white boots and a sun hat.
