Revolve Summer Lookbook - Revolve Festival 14

My Revolve Summer Lookbook (a large amount being from Revolve Festival) is very late, but I thought I should share what I loved most mid-summer. I’ve been feeling a little bummed lately because everyone around me is saying summer is almost over but I feel like I never got into it.

A Little Personal Update

On a personal life update, I’ll be honest. It’s been hard. I am not usually one to complain publicly. I believe complaining is not very attractive and I don’t want to sound like a little “bish”… But I thought I should try and open up more to whoever is reading this.

Before I get into my Revolve Summer Lookbook, I’ll share some personal thoughts and events. I recently had to go through a death in my family. I learned a lot about my immediate family and myself. Out of respect for my family’s privacy, I cannot share details… But what I can say is that I saw different sides of everyone that I didn’t really see before.

Many emotions were felt in a short span of 4 days: support, compassion, patience, impatience (lol), frustration, relief, anger, gratitude, and many more… In the end, I was reminded of how much I love my family and how stronger a woman I want to become. One step for me to be stronger is to be optimistic. So even though I had a rough few weeks, I look at it as a hurdle to being a stronger person. Summer is not over yet and I plan to make the most of it. Let’s start by sharing my Revolve Summer Lookbook.

I’ve been shopping more often on Revolve lately (click here to see what else I bought!) so the majority of my Revolve Summer Lookbook is from Revolve Festival. Even though the festival was the beginning of summer, I think the outfits are still easy to wear in general.

Song of Style – Ada Midi Skirt by REVOLVE – How I Styled It

Like many young fashion enthusiasts, I’ve been following Song of Style for years now. Aimee Song has been my role model throughout my little chapters in life and continues to inspire me. I especially love her New York Fashion Week content! I noticed Aimee Song’s Instagram handle had changed from @songofstyle to @aimeesong and it made me wonder why. As I curiously tapped on her profile, I was surprised to see her announcement of a clothing line called Song of Style soon to be launched by Revolve.

I waited for days for more news about the Song of Style. When the launch arrived, I waited eagerly to purchase a garment from the collection. I kept texting my girlfriend around 7 am, contemplating if I should purchase a garment. At first, I decided not to because I wanted to be good at spending. Then, Song of Style items was quickly being labeled as “out of stock”. SO, I quickly purchased the Ada Midi Skirt by Song of Style. Ah~ that guilty pleasure of purchasing something you want!

The Song of Style Ada Midi Skirt by Revolve is absolutely gorgeous. This garment is partially lined and has an elasticized waist, which I love! The reason I bought this is for the draped overlay trim and pastel pink color. I paired it with a white off-shoulder sweater (I always love wearing white) and white lace bralette under. As for my accessories, I am wearing the Chloe Small Nile Bracelet Bag in white and flats by x Lovers + Friends Magnolia Flat by Raye. White

All-White Outfit of the Day

By Posted on 2 Comments 2 min read 1854 views

Let’s be honest, everyone. All-white outfits are hard to pull off. And what’s worse is that fear of soiling your clean and fresh look and having to walk around in embarrassment. I’ve had quite a few mishaps while wearing all-white. Like the time I was in high school, I was naively bold enough to wear an all-white outfit to school and what do you know, a fellow classmate spilled chocolate milk all over my pants during lunch. Or that time when I wore a white tee to grab boba with friends. I stabbed my boba straw too hard into my Thai tea and got orange splatter marks all over my chest.

How to Keep Your All-White Outfit Fresh All Day

The following tips are followed by me when wearing an all-white outfit or when I have a photo shoot:

  1. Eat leaning forward – Yes, it looks ridiculous but it helps! This includes having beverages as well.
  2. If you’re stabbing a straw into boba, cover it with a napkin or hands.
  3. Avoid carelessly sitting down anywhere. You’d be surprised by how many dirty white butts I’ve seen. Lol.
  4. Carry a Tide Pen
  5. If you have a mishap, soak with water or sparkling water and pat dry as soon as possible.

All-White Outfit Details

I absolutely love wearing white on white since it’s another way to make you “glow“. My entire outfit is by Forever 21. The white lace top (sold out but similar one here) was tricky since I thought a solid white or nude bra would look funny under this elegant top. I paired it with a white lace bralette and wore nipple covers under just in case! The pants were comfortable and made me feel chic. I finished this white on white look with white boots and a sun hat.

Two Piece Sets by Tobi & Personal Update

By Posted on 5 Comments 2 min read 1129 views

Two-piece sets are the easiest outfits in the world other than a dress. I actually prefer two-piece sets because it seems like there is more thought put into the outfit than a one-piece dress.

Coupled with my Black Chanel Boy Bag, this particular outfit for two-piece sets is one of my favorites! I felt sexy, trendy, and cool while wearing this outfit. I usually don’t like skirts but the over the knee boots helps give the outfit an edge. Edginess is my go-to and you can take a glimpse at it here.

Personal Update

Now, for a little update on my personal affairs. If you follow me on Instagram (@yukibomb), then you would probably know that I was in the hospital on Christmas for a thumb laceration. I ended up getting 9 stitches and will have a slight handicap with using my right hand for up to 4-6 months. This explains my inactivity with fashion shoots and social media.

During my visit to the hospital, I had to wait about 4 hours to see a doctor in the emergency room… Then, I ended up getting a lovely set of nine painful stitches. The pain was excruciating due to the five injections of local anesthesia I had to receive. The cut isn’t very big, my tendons are still intact (thank goodness), but the scarring will be pretty bad. It turns out I will probably need plastic surgery on my hand if I want to reduce the scarring.

Lastly…

Lastly, I am excited to announce that I will be flying to Paris, France again! It feels like it only has been 2 months since I last visited but it will be about 6 months by the time I fly out. I plan to cover Paris Fashion Week again under myself and Composure Magazine (a digital fashion magazine). I guess I’ll have to grab more two-piece sets for the on the go fashion.

A black turtleneck is my must-have for the fall and winter season. The same team from my last shoot (read it here) took these photos at the Pigalle Basketball Court in Paris, France. This photo shoot was shot in less than 10 minutes due to the interruption of restrictions with filming and photography. Luckily, we were able to work quickly in the crowded and beautiful Pigalle Basketball Court.

Choihyuksoo’s (the photographer) favorite shoot with me was this black turtleneck outfit at the Pigalle Basketball Court.

Since most of Paris, France has an old traditional charm, seeing the modern and vibrant Pigalle Basketball Court was strangely refreshing (not that I got tired of the beautiful old Parisian architecture). This colorful environment was a perfect contrast to the black on black outfit. I loved the bold colors of blue, white, pink, red, yellow, orange, and purple throughout the whole court. The court’s floor had caught my attention as I walked upon it because of its rubber surface. It’s gradient colors matched well with the brilliant walls.

This new Paris landmark is popular not only because of its uniqueness but because of it’s “out of place” vibe. It almost felt like entering the World of Oz when comparing to the rest of Paris.

What I Wore

Black Turtleneck - Black on Black Outfit - YukiBomb – Pigalle Basketball Court

The black turtleneck I am wearing is an old one that I picked up at a boutique but you can find a ton of similar ones almost anywhere. As for the pants, I ordered them from Revolve years ago. The sunglasses are one of my favorites because it reminds me of John Lennon. Lastly, the white sneakers are by Adidas.

This black turtleneck outfit was honestly not planned. They were meant to be worn after the team and I were done shooting but Choihyuksoo thought it would be best to wear it at the basketball court. He was right.

Blush Pink Dress Romance in Paris

Blush Pink Dress in Paris, France

I usually don’t like pink dresses, but this dress immediately caught my attention when I first saw it on ShopBlueDistrict.com. What caught my attention was the details and cut. This maxi pink lace dress has multiple lace layers with refined crochet features on the shoulders and waist. The back of the dress is entirely transparent with small floral details that flow across the back.  Lastly, the inner layer embraces a solid mini skirt with a long outer layer of lace, faintly revealing the delicate legs.

I love this pink lace dress so much because of its charming composition, subtly sensual cuts, and elegant hue. You can wear it formally or as an evening dress. If you’re looking for dresses for weddings, this can also be worn. It’s such a great dress to have in the closet.

The Struggles of Shooting in Paris

I wore this romantic blush pink dress during my visit to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, aka Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, a Roman Catholic church. The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris was built in 1888. Unfortunately, the team and I couldn’t shoot in front of the beautiful landmark since it was too crowded. We walked around the famous Roman Catholic Church and found beautifully hidden alleyways with charming doors and greenery. I felt like I was on set for an old classic movie.

As you look through all of the photos I took wearing the pink lace dress, you can see that in some photos I am wearing black boots and in others, I am wearing white mules (lol). I started taking photos in the black heels but unfortunately, the stiletto was too small for the uneven bricked walkways of Paris (you can read about my first perspective here). I almost fell over while walking! It was so bad that I had to hold one of the photographer’s arm. Finally, I decided to switch out my heels for flat white mules. Luckily both shoe styles matched with the pink lace dress. The extraordinary feeling of relief from the constriction of heels literally made me skip down the alleyway. The team laughed either because I was relieved or because they didn’t have to watch me struggle through the walkway.
