My Revolve Summer Lookbook (a large amount being from Revolve Festival) is very late, but I thought I should share what I loved most mid-summer. I’ve been feeling a little bummed lately because everyone around me is saying summer is almost over but I feel like I never got into it.

A Little Personal Update

On a personal life update, I’ll be honest. It’s been hard. I am not usually one to complain publicly. I believe complaining is not very attractive and I don’t want to sound like a little “bish”… But I thought I should try and open up more to whoever is reading this.

Before I get into my Revolve Summer Lookbook, I’ll share some personal thoughts and events. I recently had to go through a death in my family. I learned a lot about my immediate family and myself. Out of respect for my family’s privacy, I cannot share details… But what I can say is that I saw different sides of everyone that I didn’t really see before.

Many emotions were felt in a short span of 4 days: support, compassion, patience, impatience (lol), frustration, relief, anger, gratitude, and many more… In the end, I was reminded of how much I love my family and how stronger a woman I want to become. One step for me to be stronger is to be optimistic. So even though I had a rough few weeks, I look at it as a hurdle to being a stronger person. Summer is not over yet and I plan to make the most of it. Let’s start by sharing my Revolve Summer Lookbook.

I’ve been shopping more often on Revolve lately (click here to see what else I bought!) so the majority of my Revolve Summer Lookbook is from Revolve Festival. Even though the festival was the beginning of summer, I think the outfits are still easy to wear in general.

All-White Outfit of the Day

By Posted on 2 Comments 2 min read 2398 views

Let’s be honest, everyone. All-white outfits are hard to pull off. And what’s worse is that fear of soiling your clean and fresh look and having to walk around in embarrassment. I’ve had quite a few mishaps while wearing all-white. Like the time I was in high school, I was naively bold enough to wear an all-white outfit to school and what do you know, a fellow classmate spilled chocolate milk all over my pants during lunch. Or that time when I wore a white tee to grab boba with friends. I stabbed my boba straw too hard into my Thai tea and got orange splatter marks all over my chest.

How to Keep Your All-White Outfit Fresh All Day

The following tips are followed by me when wearing an all-white outfit or when I have a photo shoot:

  1. Eat leaning forward – Yes, it looks ridiculous but it helps! This includes having beverages as well.
  2. If you’re stabbing a straw into boba, cover it with a napkin or hands.
  3. Avoid carelessly sitting down anywhere. You’d be surprised by how many dirty white butts I’ve seen. Lol.
  4. Carry a Tide Pen
  5. If you have a mishap, soak with water or sparkling water and pat dry as soon as possible.

All-White Outfit Details

I absolutely love wearing white on white since it’s another way to make you “glow“. My entire outfit is by Forever 21. The white lace top (sold out but similar one here) was tricky since I thought a solid white or nude bra would look funny under this elegant top. I paired it with a white lace bralette and wore nipple covers under just in case! The pants were comfortable and made me feel chic. I finished this white on white look with white boots and a sun hat.

My First Time in Europe: Traveling Solo to Paris

Traveling Solo to Paris, France

“You’re traveling solo to Paris? You’re crazy” is a response I got from one of my friends who I was chatting with during our catch-up brunches in Los Angeles. As I sipped on my hot black coffee, I told her it was something I had to do. To simply go. Why? There’s something about traveling alone that fulfills me in all aspects. When I travel alone, I feel like my soul brightens from all of the excitement. Going to a foreign country is entering another world. The sounds, smell, air, sky, lighting, are all so different to me. That’s why traveling solo to Paris for the first time was so important to me.

Preparing for My Trip

I do admit, at first I was a bit nervous traveling solo to Paris so naturally, I prepared myself as best as I could. I watched countless YouTube videos of “10 Things To Do in Paris” or “What Not to Do While Traveling Solo to Paris”, etc… Then I learned simple French phrases for two reasons. The first reason to learn some French was obviously for survival in case of a dreadful situation. Then the other reason would be for respecting the French and their culture. I believe that whatever country you visit, you should always learn a few phrases to show respect for those in the country.

Traces of History…

Paris was like a dream of the old world. The streets and sidewalks were made of small bricks (which was difficult to walk in heels) and the architecture was fascinating because it felt like the buildings were proudly standing in representation of France’s rich history; it seemed like France had left traces of its past throughout every corner and narrow alleyway. I couldn’t help but wonder what it was like 100+ years ago while passing small shops and countless cafes…
