This Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review goes over product benefits, some differences between the original and new forumla, and the Pros & Cons.

First of all, I am excited to share my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review (get it here)! I recently went to an event at the pop-up café by Laura Mercier called “Café Mercier” located in Venice Beach. It was such an ideal café for me since it felt like a trendy LA café that had a charming French touch.

The Laura Mercier pop-up event was for the launch of the new and improved tinted moisturizer. In contrast to the older tinted moisturizer, the new packaging has a nice sleek feel to it and shows the shade of the product.

Before I get started on my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review, I must say I love the weightlessness. I felt comfortable with this product on all day. The product is infused with Tamarind Seed Extract to maintain moisture and prolongs hydration. The tinted moisturizer also contains Macadamia and Kukui seed oils to promote healthy skin by helping you skin’s fuctionality.

PROS & CONS

This Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review goes over product benefits, some differences between the original and new forumla, and the Pros & Cons.

Next, is the pros and cons for the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review.

PROS:

  • SPF 30 UVB/UVA
  • Because it contains Antioxidant Vitamins C & E, it has added benefits
  • Hydrating / Moisturizing
  • Dewy & Natural Finish
  • As a result of the added nut oils, it has a luminous glow
  • Due to smooth application, it has a natural finish
  • Non-greasy
  • Because of the creamy texture, it blurs imperfections
  • Weightless

CONS:

  • As a result of very light coverage – not recommended if you have hyper pigmentation or acne
  • Certainly not for individuals who have nut allergies – contains nut oil
  • Because the shades are different from the previous formula, you cannot order the same shade as before.
  • Due to its light coverage, it is not buildable
  • Seems like it can get “tacky” if you have oily skin; too hydrating for oily skin

First, for application, you can use a beauty sponge, but I prefer to use my fingers. Second, after applying about a “bean size” amount, I’ll pat my face with a beauty sponge to perfect the finish. Then, cover any pigmentation from previous acne with concealer. Finally, to set the tinted moisturizer, I used the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder using a powder brush

J-Beauty with Shiseido – Japanese Skincare

By Posted on 7 Comments 3 min read 2840 views

My current skincare routine is my J-Beauty routine, which is Japanese skincare. I have been obsessed with skin care since 2009 and J-Beauty was actually my very first skincare regimen. Being into J-Beauty, you would learn to know that Shiseido is the queen of Japanese skincare with its rich history of over 145 years.

“At Shiseido, beauty is not an image. It is a feeling… It is a combination of art and science, knowledge and instinct, imagination and reality…” When I first read this snippet from Shiseido about their J-Beauty rituals, I instantly felt connected due to my similar thoughts on beauty (read it here).

About J-Beauty

J-Beauty is skincare rooted in Japanese routines where the belief of beauty lies on a healthy skin base; At the foundation of Japanese skincare are powerful rituals with typically four steps: soften, strengthen, moisturize, protect. So, the heart of Japanese Skincare is formed through advances and science-driven products that ensure the healthiest skin possible. Then, J-Beauty focuses skincare needs of prevention instead of treatment.

Shiseido has established a simple and effiective routine that balances the skin while nourishing (oh, and of course protect!)

Step 1: Softener: Eudermine Revitalizing Essence

Eudermine is one of Shiseido’s eldest products, presented in 1897. This softening lotion delivers immediate moisture and reacts to changes in the weather to keep skin’s moisture level consistent irrespective of setting or season. It has a light, elegant fragrance that is gentle on the skin.

After that, is serum! This top selling serum just got better with an improved formula with ImuGeneration Technology. This nutrient boosted serum is powered with anti-oxidant rich reishi mushroom and iris root extracts to strengthen the skin by restoring firmness and defending against daily damage. Therefore, my skin felt smooth and dewy after this application.

Essential Energy Moisturizing Gel Cream

The Essential Energy Moisturizing Gel Cream offsets dreariness, dehydration, and the appearances of fine lines.

ReNeura Technology is inspired by neuroscience and revives the skin’s sensors to corresponding information better. Hence, I love the science behind this hero moisturizer! In addition, the smooth and non-greasy texture absorbs quickly into the skin with immediate results of supple, moisture-enriched skin.

Moreover, I highly recommend using the tiny spatula packaged with the jar! For me, I feel like it’s an absolute taboo to stick your fingers in the jar. Bacteria can enter the cream from your fingers. Therefore, your cream isn’t as clean and fresh as it should and I’m sure you don’t want that to happen!

Step 4: Protect: Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector SPF 42

Lastly, sun protection. This Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector not only protects from the sun but also controls excess sebum. And, it gives a nice matte appearance which is perfect for finishing up your routine.
