My current skincare routine is my J-Beauty routine, which is Japanese skincare. I have been obsessed with skin care since 2009 and J-Beauty was actually my very first skincare regimen. Being into J-Beauty, you would learn to know that Shiseido is the queen of Japanese skincare with its rich history of over 145 years.
“At Shiseido, beauty is not an image. It is a feeling… It is a combination of art and science, knowledge and instinct, imagination and reality…” When I first read this snippet from Shiseido about their J-Beauty rituals, I instantly felt connected due to my similar thoughts on beauty (read it here).

Shiseido’s 4-Step Essential Routine
Shiseido has established a simple and effiective routine that balances the skin while nourishing (oh, and of course protect!)
Step 1: Softener: Eudermine Revitalizing Essence
First, Eudermine is one of the company’s eldest products, presented in 1897. This softening lotion delivers immediate moisture and reacts to changes in the weather to keep skin’s moisture level consistent irrespective of setting or season. It has a light, elegant fragrance that is gentle on the skin.
How to Use: Saturate a cotton pad. Then, smooth over face & neck after cleansing. Next, reapply if needed.
Step 2: Strengthen: Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate
After that, is serum! This top selling serum just got better with an improved formula with ImuGeneration Technology. This nutrient boosted serum is powered with anti-oxidant rich reishi mushroom and iris root extracts to strengthen the skin by restoring firmness and defending against daily damage. Therefore, my skin felt smooth and dewy after this application.
How to Use: Use every morning and night. Dispense the formula onto hand with two pumps. Then, smooth evenly over face.
Step 3: Moisturize: Essential Energy Moisturizing Gel Cream
The Essential Energy Moisturizing Gel Cream offsets dreariness, dehydration, and the appearances of fine lines.

Moreover, I highly recommend using the tiny spatula packaged with the jar! For me, I feel like it’s an absolute taboo to stick your fingers in the jar. Bacteria can enter the cream from your fingers. Therefore, your cream isn’t as clean and fresh as it should and I’m sure you don’t want that to happen!
Step 4: Protect: Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector SPF 42
Lastly, sun protection. This Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector not only protects from the sun but also controls excess sebum. And, it gives a nice matte appearance which is perfect for finishing up your routine.
How to Use: Shake before use. Then, smooth over face and neck generously before sun exposure.
In summary, Japanese Beauty is simplified and effective. It is the basic foundation of essentials to skincare. Lastly, it is my go-to when I need a break for my skin. And above all, it is gentle with advanced skincare technology.
